The Process

Design Workshops (on repeat)

My primary role within this project was to define requirements (and quickly). The client had an internal UI team but needed support on UX and defining all of the problems to be solved. Through daily workshops that defined the who, what where, when and how we were able to pinpoint the project roadmap priorities. After each workshop Iā€™d work to compile all of our findings into a deliverable which we could use a a jumping off point for the next workshop. In practice the sequencing of this looking like workshop, ecosystem map, information architecture, user journey map, screen mockups and prototypes.

Research, Research, Research

Because this was a super tight timeline I put a lot of effort into confirming we had exactly what we needed and there were no blind spots. I conducted interviews with their employees, read white papers on cannabis finance both at the national and state level, and researched the 3rd party businesses we would be working with to support the platform. By the end of my time on the projects their UI designer had all of the requirements they needed to design screens, iterate and test with users. Additionally the developers understood the system they were working within. The product went live and is officially the first in industry to offer a cannabis business digital wallet.
